Introducing Our Pages
- Noah Soliman
When developing PhysioFrog, we believed that to successfully democratise and present the information regarding muscle preparation, we had to express the content through five pages; Home, Your Body, Exercises, Library, Profile. Like many fitness apps, the roles of these pages differ and are of varying importance. The following paragraphs will explain the team’s perspective with each page.
Home Page
With PhysioFrog being in its MVP form (at time of release), our Home page has little added value for the user. Currently, under the ‘WHAT’S NEW’ heading, the user is presented with three new exercises to try. This is an easy shortcut for users to experiment with new exercises, and build up their pre- and post-game exercise portfolios on the app. In addition, users who have engaged in our multi-day programmes will be presented with their daily exercise routine under the heading ‘SCHEDULED’. This also acts as a shortcut for those users who want to perform and tick off their exercise for the day after a long shift at work. We see the Home Page as a blank canvas with a lot of potential for new ideas as the app develops, especially beyond its MVP form.
Your Body Page
All the PhysioFrog pages were designed around what we call the ‘spotlight page’: Your Body. The Your Body Page is the user’s first real interaction with our incredible muscle-body figure. Users can select the muscle group they wish to target and be suggested exercises, of all formats, to perform. The team spent a lot of time ensuring that the experience on this page was slick and intuitive, as we believe a significant proportion of user activity will be spent here. There is a muscle-body for both sexes to ensure everyone is accommodated for.
Exercises Page
Remember when you were asked to input your age, sex, activities, and occupation when signing up? Well, the Exercises Page is why. We predict that along with the Your Body Page, the Exercises Page will hold the highest proportion of user activity. Under the ‘RECOMMENDED’ subheading, this page allows you to be recommended the most beneficial exercises based off your inputted lifestyle. The page is also home to Custom Routine creation, giving users the opportunity to create their own sequence of exercises so all their needs are met in one routine. Furthermore, this page presents users with Programmes – a unique, multi-day exercise experience that focuses on a long-term objective. Currently, we have one programme available, but plan to heavily increase that number soon. Another feature that has huge growth potential is our Performance Routines. These routines tap into a different channel to sporting preparation by focusing on enhancing an athletic attribute, such as our Explosive Jump which focuses on your vertical jumping ability.
Library Page
As the name suggests, the Library Page acts as the bank of exercises for users to interact with. With a search bar and filter system, you can easily find exercises that match your desired muscle group and related activity. Exercises are split into three types; exercises, routines, programmes. Our library allows you to search amongst our thirty-seven exercises and seven routines.
Profile Page
Finally, we have the Profile Page. Like many mobile apps, this page gives you access to personal admin tasks. One of which includes changing your occupation and primary activities to ensure PhysioFrog is up to date with your current lifestyle. Arguably, one of the most important features in the software is located here: the Feedback Box. It’s a source of direct communication with our users, in which we receive their messages to our email inbox. Being in our MVP stage, it’s crucial we regularly hear users’ thoughts on the app so we can iterate and improve their experience.
Only The Beginning…
The PhysioFrog Team attempted to fit in the most crucial features that address our mission in these five pages. However, luckily for you, we have many more outstanding ideas and concepts we can’t wait to implement. Thank you for the continued support and enjoy your week!
